Happy Saturday Spring Break!

I am so glad Elijah has this week off! We are going to try to do some fun family things together to keep them all entertained. Zane is progressing in his potty training quickly. Today he was running around nervously in circles holding his bottom and he stopped and pulled my hand to bring me down to his level and said "poop". I said "okay, let's go poop potty!" So off he went to the bathroom and put his seat on the potty, took his pull up off, climbed up on his stool to get on the potty and just sat there playing with his special potty toys he can only have when he is on the potty. We sat for about 10 minutes and you could tell he didn't know whether or not to poop in the potty or if he would get in trouble..... Pooping is a little harder than pee pee. So eventually he said "All Done" and got down with no poop in the potty. At least he knew he had to poop and what to do with it. The idea is there but the execution is a little fuzzy!! He is well trained however, he flushes the potty, puts his potty seat up, brings the step stool over to the sink, washes his hands, dries and then puts the lid down! That is better than Daddy does!!

You will have to forgive the less frequent posting for a couple of weeks. My Mom is bed ridden for the most part so I have 5 people to tend to, not just 4. She is still very uncomfortable and can't walk or bend at all so we bring everything to her and help her out of bed when she needs to get up. She goes to the Dr. on Monday morning. Zane doesn't understand why she can't take him outside or go with him in the car sometimes to Walmart like she used to do. He pulls her by the hand and cries for her to get up, then she starts crying because he doesn't get it and she thinks she's disappointing him or that he will get mad at her. It is sad, Dad and I aren't good enough all the time, sometimes he just wants to play with Nanny. We are believing for a speedy recovery for her so she can let Zane jump on her and drag her around again. I know it would make her happy!

Only one more day until Friday!

I am glad this week is coming to an end! I have had enough excitement to last a lifetime. My mom tried to pick up an end table by herself and fractured her spine. She has severe Osteoporosis so something like that can really damage your back unlike a normal person, it wouldn't be a big deal to them. When you have a thyroid condition like she does (Brian and I both do as well) and you are a tiny lady, like her, Osteoporosis can be a real problem. She had a cat scan yesterday and they don't need to do surgery but she has to let it heal by just lying down and limiting her activity for about 3 months. For those of you who know her that will be no easy task. Please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery!

Elijah is doing great with his new glasses. He wears them all the time and says what a difference it has made for him. No more moving up to the front of the room at school to copy the board. He looks handsome too!
Well, tonight is board game night for our family and I have spaghetti to cook so off I go! I hope everyone has a ...................

Zanes new big boy bed!

We got Zane a twin size bed for him to sleep in now that he is 40 inches tall and almost 40 pounds! We have not bought all the decorative pillows and the bed rails yet so he isn't sleeping in it just yet but it won't be long. He is excited to have it and had to jump on it to test it out. What other theme would he want except The Wiggles of course. I had to get this sent from Australia, for Pete's sake, they don't make them anymore in the US.

This was supposed to be Zane's bed

Even Biskit is happy to have a new bed. He usually sleeps with me under the covers between my ankles, but I have a feeling once Zane starts using this bed he will be right there with him. (at least until he kicks him in the head)

Elijah's new glasses!

Elijah finally got his new glasses today. He got 2 pair, one is blue and the other is gun metal gray. He looks really handsome in them and he could not believe how much better he could see. I told him that when I got my contacts (I was 15) I didn't realize how poor my vision was until I put lenses in. He took it like a champ. When I was growing up everyone made fun of kids with glasses. Thank goodness it is not such an abnormal thing. I think they look great! He picked out both pairs himself.

I think this sums up my day...

It started like this and then..

He was just lounging on the couch, watching Handy Manny, playing with his ice cream sundae glasses that came with his kitchen. Then he found the mirror that lines the back of my china cabinet and there he went!

I'm not sure if this amazing or strange?!

He is watching himself do this in the mirror so it is even funnier.

Sunday

Not much to report this weekend. Elijah will finally get his glasses tomorrow after school. I will take pics and post them so you can see. He is excited about being able to see better.

I also went to the new MARSHALLS at TURKEY CREEK!!! That store is best store I think I have ever been to. I got all kinds of stuff! I managed to buy Puma, Converse, and Stride Rite socks for all the boys (obviously the Stride Rite is for Zane). for $4.99 for 3 pairs each. I got Zane an ECKO t-shirt and plaid matching shorts set for $11.99. They had tons of towels, swim suit cover ups, shoes like I have never seen, and name brand swimming suits for boys and girls for $9.99. You can always get name brands at Marshalls for pennies on the dollar compared to what they originally cost. I get all my washcloths and towels there and their good quality. You have to stop in when your out that way shopping, it is too great to miss. Right now with me at home and only 1 real income (I sell on ebay etc.. but it is just for spending money) I have to hunt for deals and I don't mind buying generic for some things but when you can get a name brand for the same as a generic at another store then why the heck not?!

Today I went to Food City and I was going to take Zane but Elijah wanted to stay with Nanny. I was only going for 15 minutes so I said okay. Zane got his shoes on and went looking for Elijah. He went and pulled Elijah up by his shirt and made him walk to the car with him all the while looking behind to make sure he was coming. It was funny. Elijah was a good sport and went with him. Sometimes when I go downstairs to get the laundry Zane will go get him and make him sit with him and play toys so he isn't alone. Other times Zane won't let you mess with him so go figure! I am glad they have each other to play with, aggrivate, torture and care for.

Brian went with a friend to ride his dirtbike today. He had a good time and came home in one piece so it was a good day. Elijah gets mad at him because he can't go with him but where Brian goes you can't stand and watch. Some places that they ride there is a parking lot or clearing you can sit or stand and watch them go by but not when their up on the mountain. His friend has a four wheeler so they enjoy riding together.
Well that's all! More later. Next time you see Elijah he will have handsome glasses on! Now he can watch his new favorite show, THE EXTERMINATORS, and actually see it. It is a cute show about an exterminating company in Shreveport, LA. They catch, spray, remove and rescue every type of insect, reptile, cat, dog, beaver, roach etc... known to man. It is really educational and funny! It's on A&E, you should catch an episode and see if it's for you!

This pic is old but cute!

I haven't taken a lot of pics this week but I was going through some old ones and I found this one I thought was cute. Zane was about 7 months, I think. Good Lord he definitely has his Dad's ears. His lobes are almost detached and go away from his head. Those are not mine!
