Afraid to watch the news?
I turned on FOX news today (we don't watch anything else they are too biased) and the first three stories were all under the "breaking news" headline. The first one was the flooding/freezing temps in N. Dakota, the second was the unprecedented blizzard in the midwest, and the third was the attempt at socialism that some congressman think will save our world. It frustrates me to think that Americans are so ass backward that they don't even realize how we got in this mess. A poll said today that 30% of Americans think the salaries of movie stars and sports figures should be limited to 1 million dollars a year. Can you believe that? Do we really think capping someones salary is the answer? I do think capping salaries for execs that have taken bail out money is appropriate, but the problem isn't the movie star or the sports figure. It is the crazy people that spend a ridiculous amount of money buying, going to see, auctioning off all of the stuff that pays the salary. Where do you think they get the money to pay these people? From us! The reason we are in this mess is good old fashioned GREED! "I want a house I can't afford but I can get the loan so I'm going to do it anyway", then your house ends up not being worth what you paid for it! This country allows anyone to do and be and make anything they put their heart, mind, and education towards. Unfortunately, human nature doesn't keep things in balance and greed, not ever having enough, needing a bigger house, etc.. gets the best of us and here we are. The economy can't withstand a bazillion greedy people all living in the same country doing nothing for anyone other than themself and throwing money at sports figures, and movie stars and getting loans for things they can't afford. The American dream used to be owning a home, owning a car, raising a family. Now it is. whoever has the biggest house and most expensive car wins. When I see people like the female, black talk show host (who shall remain nameless) that give 40 million to people of the same race in another country then have a white family on the next show with 6 kids living in a FEMA trailer that is in turn making them sick because they were manufactured with formaldahyde but can't, no let me rephrase that, WON'T give her $100,000 to buy a decent house for her family that is by the way, spending an average of 2 weeks a month in the doctors office, 3 kids are in nebulizers for breathing problems and one has cancer caused by the trailer. We are in serious need of an intervention in this country and electing a President with socialist values and a euphoric view of the world and its people isn't it. We have made our own mess and cannot blame George Bush or anyone else for it and turning to socialistic (government controlling absolutely everything out of fear and paranoia) is not what we need. Just going back to the basics of prayer, kindness, being a good steward over our money, taking care of our neighbors and treating them like we want to be treated, and living within our means is what we need. I hope it doesn' t take more Katrinas, or massive flooding, or horrible blizzards, earthquakes to get our attention.
Boycott Comcast!
I was watching the new channel 44 over the last 3 days because it's added all the digital channel schedules on there to get ready for the change over in June. It takes 2 times as long to find the channel your looking for now, but that is not the worst of it. I don't know if satellite t.v. does this or not but... on channel 503-515 it list the schedule for the next hour or so just like all the other. These channels are adult channels. Normally you would just see "Pay per view", or something to disguise what is on but lets you know it is available for purchase. I suppose nasty old men or really bored young men order all of those extra channels as a right of passage or final attempt at youth, one or the other. But now you can see what is on channel 503 at 3:30 in the afternoon, let's see....today it was "Big Bossy Sluts", then it was "Wild, Crazy Milfs", at 6:00 p.m. while eating dinner you can watch the family show (NOT) "Vanilla girls that like Chocolate Sticks!" How have I ever survived without knowing that?! I understand that people (nasty ones) have the freedom to watch such shows, but at 3:30 in the afternoon I don't want my 11 year old looking through the t.v channel trying to see when Spongebob comes on and seeing that, DO YOU? I think I feel a letter to Comcast coming on! I hope you will join me. Zane will be reading before you know it and boys don't need any encouragement anyway, I should know I have a house full!

Is today seriously Tuesday?!
It feels like Thursday at our house. I think it must be having to start school again after having no one to pick up and take, sleeping later, staying up later, etc...
I found some good deals at Ross' this weekend! We play a lot of board games at our house. One night a week we play all together. I found "Scene It, Nickelodeon Channel" for $7.99 at Ross'. I have been wanting that one the "Scene It, Movie Edition", but they are normally $30.00 each so I was thrilled to get one for $7.99! We are going to play it tonight! Elijah will probably spank Brian and I at it but that's okay!
Zanes birthday is creeping up very shortly and I am trying to decide what to do. I think I will rent an inflatable from Moonwalks and Such like I usually do and let him jump until he can't jump anymore. I am going to have Magpies or The Cupcakery make cupcakes for the adults and I will make his individual cake. We are going to use Mickey Mouse for the theme since he loves it. I bought a shirt with Mickey Mouse on it and it says Happy 3rd Birthday Zane! It is adorable!! I get a shirt every year that has his age on it so I can keep them and show them to him when he is 30!
Not much else going on around here, My Brother and Sister in law go to court on Friday to finalize the adoption of my nephew, Dakota. His Dad didn't respond to the papers or ad that they posted so he will lose his parental rights on Friday. He has never really taken an interest in him anyway so it isn't like Dakota cares. I know Rick is excited and a little relieved too.
Well, that's all for now. I am off to make Hooters Chicken Wings and BBQ Wings for dinner!

Throwing football
We took the boys outside because of the beautiful weather and played football and jumped on the trampoline today. Biskit got to get out and exercise too. Now that it is finally warming up it is nice to be able to do that.
