Elijah's Birthday Party!
We had reserved the pool for his party but the terrible storms we have all had of late ruined our plans so we just had cake and stuff at Brian's moms house. She lives just a couple of miles from the pool anyway so we thought what the heck! I had a friend make my cake for him. She has a business at home and she is amazing! It is called J Cakes and Designs. She made a 3-D New Orleans Saints stadium with half butter choclate and half butter vanilla. It was really, really good! Elijah loved it. He had his best friend Austin and Brians family there to celebrate with him. I can't believe next year he will be a teenager. His Daddy got him a cell phone so I can call him when he is there and he can call when he is here. He isn't allowed to text though. He doesn't need to. He has been very responsible with it so far. He keeps it charged and hasn't lost it thank goodness. He got a hard drive and a bunch of accessories for his XBOX LIVE. Of course what is a birthday for Elijah without more shoes. Brian and I got him his XBOX LIVE hookup and some NIKE Cortez shoes. He is a shoe fiend! He likes to feel like he is a big guy but he still enjoys all the things kids do. I'm not ready for him to grow up yet and I don't think he is either.

Elijah's first spend the night
Don't forget...Elijah's pool party is on Wednesday at 6:00-8:00 at Inskip pool. Come one come all! Anyway....Elijah spent the night with Austin last night. He has never stayed with a friend overnight, partly because of him not being real keen on the idea and partly because I am extremely overprotective and trust very few people with my kids. However, he decided that he was big enough to do it and he and Austin have been friends since they were 3 and Brian's mom lives across the street from him (that is how they met). So, I called his Daddy and he said it was okay too but If he wanted to come home at 3 in the morning I had to get him. I agreed and off he went. He spends every weekend at his Dad's house so I think years of going back and forth have not made him a big fan of spending the night away from home. He has Austin over here all the time so it was good for him to go there.
It never ceases to amaze me the parents that never even meet the parents of the kid their child wants to stay with and just let them go. I recently had a party for Zane and Elijah had some friends over for him to play with, one of them I had never met him or his family. I went to pick him up expecting to get out and introduce myself so they would at least know what I look like before I cart their child to my house. When I arrived the boy was there with his 12 year old sister and his parents were gone. I asked him "Does your mom know your even coming with me?" He said "Yeah!" I thought to myself , it is a good thing I am not a pedophile or a murderer, but how does his mom know that. It really disturbed me! People wander why their child is taken or abused, but if you can't do better than that then don't have kids. Your one job in life is to keep your children safe and I see so many who aren't doing the best job they can. You have to be 14 in the state of TN to be able to be home alone by yourself or with a sibling. Anything could go wrong. They could get hurt, lost, have someone try to break in etc..... In this day and time you can't trust anyone, not even your Sunday school teachers unless you really know them at home and church. There really isn't anyone else but Austin that I feel comfortable letting Elijah stay with, maybe one other boy who's mom I am good friends with, but that's it. I guess he has begun to grow up, as hard as that may be for me and his Daddy to accept. I will probably always be overprotective with both boys. I am just as bad with Zane, (so is Brian). They are only little for a little while and then their not so I try to slow them down a little. They have a life time of being big ahead of them.

HAPPY 12TH BIRTHDAY ELIJAH! (TOMORROW)
Tomorrow is my oldest childs 12th b-day! I can't believe it!! Time goes so fast. We are having a pool party for him at Inskip pool on June 17th (a week from tomorrow) from 6-8 pm. Come one, come all! They are shutting the whole pool down for us and it is a great pool! I had a custom made New Orleans Saints cake made for him. It is a replica of the stadium and it's 3-D. The lady who made Brians B-day cake is making this one. I will have photos to share soon!
Biskit update
Well, as everyone knows, Biskit is trying to recover from a gastritis. He went to the vet last Sat. (emergency clinic) because he has formed a hard lemon size lump on the left side of his throat. It was filled with fluid and swollen. The vet gave him a shot of antibiotics and another 7 days worth to take home. Right now the fluid is gone, the swelling is gone, but the knot is still there but smaller. He is eating, urinating, and trying to play ball. He is not in discomfort but his back leg on the same side as the knot is numb and he can't walk on it. I think the knot (it is big) is pinching off the nerve and it is numb. It doesn't hurt him. I have pushed, and pulled on it and he doesn't care. His neck is sore so the vet said it could be a really bad abcess caused by the severe inflammation in his stomach and it spread the bacteria through his body or it could be lymphoma. He is not at a common age for canine lymphoma but is is a small possibility. We are praying that is is just an infection and not lymphoma. He is pretty hungry, and seems to feel a lot better except for his lack of moving his back leg. It annoys him when he tries to go pee. He is a tough dog and really smart. Please keep him in your prayers and us too, it is taking its toll emotionally on all 4 of us. We want to do the right thing for him and as long as he is somewhat happy and comfortable we believe he will recover.

Pray for Biskit!
Our furry baby Biskit has acute, severe gastritis. I took him to the vet yesterday and he gave him a shot of antibiotics and another for stomach pain, but he is very ill and is only sipping water. The vet said it would take a week before he was a lot better and today he is still moving slow if at all and not interested in food or water. I have to hand feed him some water or ice cubes every couple of hours all day and night long to keep him hydrated. He is a little better today but we are praying for a speedy recovery for him. He is like one of our kids so it is extremely stressful when he is sick. He can't tell you what hurts just like an infant. Yesterday he went and sat by the car and paced in circles. He was so uncomfortable that he wanted me to take him to get fixed. Keep him in your prayers!
This is supposed to be our bed!
